Harold Nichols: On Wednesday morning dear Harold passed to glory after a short stay in Victoria Hospital. He and his parents before him were stalwarts of this Parish of St Nicholas and we will be ever thankful for their commitment and service. There will be a celebration of his life and a Requiem Mass on Tuesday 26th October at 12 noon in church.

Christmas Fair: - Gifts for the Tombola, quality new gifts and spirits for the Grand Draw, Christmas items for the Christmas stall, homemade craft items, homemade cakes (on the day!) and preserves, will all be gratefully received. Please leave them at the back of church and we will store them in a safe place after each service. If you are on the Electoral Roll then there is an envelope at the back of church for you – if not, then please take a blank envelope…all will be explained!!

Special Birthdays: Both Elsie Matthias and Muriel Freestone wish to pass on their sincere thanks for all the lovely cards, flowers, and gifts they received as they celebrated their individual milestones early this month.

Hymn Practise: We are considering hosting a new Community Choir in the Spring and rather than wait, we thought we could start now as we prepare to host All Souls and our Patronal Festival in the next few weeks. If you like singing hymns and you’re free on a Tuesday at 3.30 pm for an hour, then please just come along to church and join in.

Alpha: At the back of church there is some information about the Alpha Course we are hosting, and which begins on Saturday, January 15th. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. It provides a safe place to ask those questions you’ve always wanted to ask. It’s engaging and inspiring and may just be what you need to get your faith back on track. Please consider prayerfully if this is something for you. Consider if you could invite someone to come with you, even if you’ve done Alpha before. Consider if you could help in any way. We need tables and chairs setting out, our guests need to be welcomed and served, dishes to be washed and dried and so on! Please put your name on the list at the back of church if you’re thinking about joining us in any capacity. All are genuinely welcome.

100 Club: Winners last week were Elizabeth King, Fr Alan and Bernice Meekins

Please add to your prayers: Jane, Jeanette, Heather, Jayne, Gillian, John, Alan, and John Wood whose needs at this time are known to God. And please pray too for the families and friends of Harold Nichols, John Pirie, and Valerie Gray, who are grieving at this time.
