Living in Love and Faith (LLF) Saturday 14th May

St Nicholas is hosting this in the Broadway Rooms starting at 9.45 am and ending by 4 pm. We will be joined by our brothers and sisters in Christ from Poulton, Cleveleys and Thornton to undertake a day of input, videos and discussion. Please consider giving up your Saturday to join us. There’s a sign-up sheet at the back of church. Drinks and refreshments will be provided but please bring your own packed lunch.

Riding Lights Theatre Company - are coming to Christ Church Thornton, on Wednesday 18th May at 7:30 pm. They will be showing their new production 'My Place.' This thought-provoking production explores how children find themselves in the care system, and the difference a safe stable and loving home can make, enabling the most vulnerable children to thrive. Blackpool and the Fylde Coast, sadly, like it is for many things, has the highest number of children in care across the country. Tickets are £10 each and can be booked online at ridinglights.org/my-place

If you would like to go but need help booking or need a lift…shout out!!

Christian Aid Week 10th-16th May - In Zimbabwe, the climate crisis is causing aching hunger for families. The combined effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, conflict, and drought have robbed the people there of the power to provide for their children. And 7,000 miles away, the war in Ukraine is driving up food prices in Zimbabwe, and around the globe. But hope does not disappoint. Hope lives in us. With every gift, every action, every prayer, we celebrate and share hope with our sisters and brothers facing crisis around the world, from Ukraine to Zimbabwe. Please prayerfully consider making a donation to this annual appeal. Envelopes are available at the back of church.

100 Club - Winners last week were Muriel Freestone, Mandy Ryan and Paula Meekins.

Please remember in your prayers – Fr Ron, Rev Jane Everitt, Jenny, Jillian Muir, Tony Hardman, Eddie Gillon, Rev Martin Keighley, Gillian King, Alison Horrobin, Harry Pendlebury and Christine Jones. And also, the families of Barbara Poole, Heather Hinson, Alan Fleming and Michael Jones whose funerals are due to take place.
