St Augustines

St Augustines is the parish church of Whitchurch Park in South Bristol Deanery. We are committed to serving Whitchurch and its people and aim to be a Christian presence deeply embedded in the life of our parish.

The "original" St Augustines was built in 1972 but deemed unsafe and closed in 2007, to be demolished later.

Construction on the "new" St Augustines was completed in 2016.

We work in partnership with our sister church Christ Church Hengrove, who we were paired with when Reverend Sam Sheppard was appointed priest in charge in 2021.

The parish of St. Augustine, Whitchurch is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Bristol’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
