Join us on Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th May at St Thomas a Becket Church in Pucklechurch for our annual Scarecrow Competition and Trail. This year's theme is "For a Day I Would Like To Be...." This gives our scarecrow makers lots of options to choose from!

Start at the church to pick up your trail map, clues and weekend programme. Walk around Pucklechurch and discover its historical centre and more modern additions, guessing the names of scarecrows as you go. Support the church and the village and meet with your friends, family and neighbours in this fabulous, family Bank holiday weekend event.

Enjoy the refreshments in church or bring a picnic to eat on the trail or eat at our local cafes, pubs and social clubs.

Sunday 3rd May: Arrive from 11.30 am and return your entry form to church by 4.00 pm.
Monday 4th May: Arrive from 10.00 am and return your entry form by 2.45 pm. Answers to the trail from 3.00 pm. Church closes at 4.00 pm.

There are prizes for the best scarecrows, as voted for by our trail goers and also a prize for the trail goer who guesses the most names of the scarecrows correctly!

St Thomas a Becket

St Thomas a Becket, Pucklechurch welcomes you to our historic parish church. There has been a worshipping community in our village for over 700 years.

We are an anglican church, part of the Church of England and currently offer regular Sunday worship at 10 am: Holy Communion and Morning Prayer, depending on the week.  Cafe church happens on the third Sunday of the month and is there for families of all ages, stages and sizes! There is now a regular Tuesday morning Morning Prayer service at 9.00 am. Everyone is welcome; local people, regulars and visitors.

We also offer baptisms, weddings and funerals, so do feel free to contact us.

We have close relationships with our C of E church school. They visit us and we visit them regularly!

The church building also hosts one of the two village playgroups, Tower Pre-School.

There are regular social and fundraising events at times of major Christian festivals and we support a range of charities, including our local foodbank at Mangotsfield.
