Reordering Project Update.A significant and positive step this week with a response from the DAC regarding the objections raised by some of the amenities societies. The DAC are extremely supportive of our approach with the following comments from their representative (summarised): “I think this is potentially a situation where a number of wise consultees have made a range of slightly differing observations … I think the parish have given very reasoned responses explaining where they’ve not been able to comply with every point made – and have otherwise made sensible revisions which do comply. My view is that this parish are seeking to deliver ambitious proposals in the context of the Diocesan initiative of ‘Transforming Church. Together’ and I think the DAC is therefore right to add a sense of impetus in its assessment – because the parish is delivering on the aspirations promoted by the Diocese. I think it is reasonable to proceed on the basis of a formal petition.” The next step is to finalise our justification document following the DAC feedback and once these have been provided the DAC can then issue their Notification of Advice supporting us. This will formally take us to the next stage of our application. Thanks to Mike Gibbin for his continuing hard work on this.Gift Aid.We are now completely up to date with our Gift Aid claims.
