Daily Scripture:

Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin, no guile was found on his lips, when he was reviled, he did not revile in turn. (I Peter 2.21-2)

Daily Reflection:

Self-defence is natural reaction under attack. Jesus was not always silent in the face of opposition, nor did he duck from his accusers. But he set an historic example of how we should not ‘give as good as we get’, and how not to allow ourselves to fall to the temptation to hit back. “Two wrongs don’t make a right”.
