SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding at St Nicholas’ Church, Penton.

We may be a small rural church but we are committed to the safeguarding, care, and nurture of everyone within our church community, especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults. As part of the Church of England, we follow the House of Bishops’ Promoting a Safer Church policy and the guidance outlined in the national Safeguarding E‑Manual. We also adhere to the safeguarding procedures and best practices set out by the Diocese of Carlisle.

All those working with children or vulnerable adults in our parish are safely recruited, trained, and supported. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we are committed to responding promptly and appropriately to any concerns.
