Graham Toft began his musical journey at the age of 15 when he was appointed organ scholar at Salford Cathedral. Since then, he has held a number of posts across the North of England, including Davyhulme, Radcliffe, Bolton Abbey, Settle, and Giggleswick. Since he is 63 in 2 weeks time, he has clocked up an impressive 48 years at the console. Known for his expressive playing and deep musicality, Graham has given numerous organ recitals throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire, and Cumbria. In recent years, he has developed a particular interest in Wilkinson organs, drawn to their distinctive tonal character and craftsmanship.
The organ at Burneside is a lovely example of a medium sized Wilkinson organ. Graham will provide some brief history of the instrument in this recital.
