St Mark's church has recently been awarded our Silver Eco church award a year after obtaining our Bronze award. Safeguarding the earth that we live on is an integral part of our Christian understanding, and so we see our environmental action as part of our worship and life together. the environment is one of the four key themes of Carlisle diocese's vision - Tread Gently and it is the fifth mark of mission in the Church of England; To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth. We are looking towards our Gold award and producing a plan for the church to obtain Net Zero Carbon by 2030.
