Being baptised [christened] is an exciting start to a journey of faith, no matter what age you are. It is a recognition of God's love for all God's children and a joyful time for family, friends and the church.

In St John's parish church, christenings usually take place on the fourth Sunday of the month. In exceptional circumstances, alternative dates and times can be arranged by negotiation with the rector through our contact pages. 

Christenings are offered free of charge, although donations towards the cost of maintaining each church are always most welcome.
