St. Thomas's Repair Cafe

The Repair Café at St. Thomas’s was alive with energy as our talented volunteer repairers worked their magic across a range of stations—textiles, computers, electricals, bike repair, miscellaneous fixes, and dedicated PAT testers. Every electrical item was carefully PAT tested both before and after repair, ensuring safety and peace of mind for everyone who came through the door.

The event was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Chester, adding a wonderful sense of occasion to a day already buzzing with community spirit.  The variety of items brought in was as delightful as it was eclectic. Alongside lamps, an oil vial, a nativity camel, a bike, a favourite coat and even a Minion, visitors also arrived with a carpet sweeper in need of attention, a kettle ready for a second life, and a few more well‑loved coats hoping for a bit of care. Each repair carried a story, and each successful fix sent someone home smiling.

It was a day filled with sustainability, skill‑sharing, and genuine community connection—everything a Repair Café is meant to be.
