St Thomas’s is a progressive, creative Anglican church next to the University of Chester, with a diverse congregation of all ages and nationalities. Each year we become a church home to new and returning students. We are affiliated to the Student Christian Movement and share its vision of a generous community, in which a prayerful devotion meets social action.

Our worship style is modern Anglo-Catholic which connects us with Anglicans across the globe, so that many students feel instantly at home. Our depth of tradition and spirituality works its way out into the community, particularly through the creative arts. During their time with us, we hope that students will want to use their gifts in liturgy and action, both joining our church teams and developing their own ways of being church together, with our support and that of the University Chaplaincy. We offer a regular soup lunch after worship on Sundays, so that you can get to know other students who are part of our church community.
For more information, download our student welcome leaflet here, chat with our welcome team on Sunday morning, or pop into the University Chaplaincy during the week.
