Reverend Veronica reflection on waiting

We’re not great at waiting anymore, are we?

We refresh tracking numbers, microwave dinners, tap “next-day delivery” without thinking. If something takes longer than 10 seconds, we’re already annoyed.

But Advent is all about waiting.

Not passive, bored waiting but the kind that shapes us.

Mary and Joseph knew that kind of waiting.

Travelling miles with aching feet, nowhere to stay, uncertainty everywhere… yet hope was still growing inside them. Literally.

Maybe that’s the reminder we need today:

Not everything precious arrives instantly. Some of the best things take time, courage, and trust through the uncomfortable bits.

This Advent, let’s pause. Breathe. Wait with hope. Something good is on the way. ✨
