Fresh from Hartlepool Folk Festival, Jali Bakary Konteh & Sarah Deere-Jones combine their musical experience to create a unique cultural fusion of soothing Celtic and English tunes and songs on harp, weaving around the hypnotic rhythms and sparkling West African sound of the traditional kora.

Both Jali and Sarah have performed around the world; a captivating duo from diverse musical backgrounds, finding a common ground in their intricate cultural fusion of global harp traditions.

Jali is a London-based Kora master from a legendary lineage of West African Griots (story-telling musicians & travellers) who is carrying forward Gambia’s rich Kora tradition and adding his own innovations along the way.

Sarah’s classical training has led to her dazzling arrangements of traditional and original music for voice and harp, establishing her as one of the foremost harp performers in the UK. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music and performed with professional symphony, opera and ballet orchestras.
