On the 8th May, St.David’s Church joined the nation and countries across the Worldas we celebrated the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe, 1945. The church was filled with bunting and the Red White and Blue of our national flag as a huge indoor street party was held. Food galore,as one would expect at St.David’s, including a donation of treats fromthe Myton Food Group - Morrisons Supermarket. A history of the endof the war in Europe was given including music and videos fromthe days around the time of the Nazi surrender. The event culminating in the lighting of our very own peace torch - the St.David’s beacon.A huge THANK YOU to all who helped make this a truly special event and poignant actof remembrance.
St.David's Open Day - 12th July 2025Doors open from11am till 4pmTickets are £7.50, including Refreshments and a Guided Garden TourSt Davids Open Day is part of our outreach to the community and wider afield. The church will be decorated with flowers and arrangements and there will be stalls and demonstrations for you to enjoy.We have a dispay of Book-Nooks - not heard of a Book Nook ? Come along and be amazed at the intricacy of these stunning creations. There will be locally made jewelry being produced in church with some items for sale. Our very own comedian, Mr Don Reid (of ITV's Comedians) will be holding forth with stories of some of his fellow performers and the famous people he has worked with over his 50+ illustrious career. St Davids has recently been granted a Bronze award for its ECO Church program and is now working towards it's silver award. Come and see how we are doing and what a difference becoming an ECO Church makes in St.DavidsThen, when you are suitably refreshed after partaking in a brew and some home made cake, come and join one of our groups as we leave the church and visit a local garden and woodland for a guided tour. Heather has been working and planting for over 20 years on the garden and land at Milford House Farm, so come and hear the story of the farm as it has become a wildlife heaven in the middle of our community.Lots more to do and see and we will update this post as we close in on the event.It will be wonderful to welcome you all.
