St. Davids Church is taking part in a national awards scheme to bring both awareness and best practice to our church and the way we as an organisation interact and care for our evironment. The initiative at St. Davids is being championed by Brenda Brockbank and Fiona Todd. We currently hold a Bronze award and are now pushing ahead towards our Silver award.
The Eco Church initiative covers waste management, making our church and homes more "green" by the way we interact with the environment and nature and how we can reduce our carbon footprints to help with the Climate Changes.
As part of our Eco Church, Brenda and Fiona are leading several church services and events to highlight what we are doing and how as a congregation we can become more environmentally aware and friendly.
On the 15th February we had our Cafe Eco Church service.
The congregation were invited to plant seeds and make Green Hearts to show their commitments to the environmet and make wishes to send to their MPs to hopefully get them to push the environment up to the top of the political agenda.
And being a Cafe Eco Church service, there was plenty of delicious home made cakes 🍰🍥😋
