Every week we meet to worship the Lord using the service of Holy Communion or Morning Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer. Beautiful words, richly capturing the whole Christian message. We relish this opportunity to begin the day in relative peace and quiet. Although it is a 'said' service we do like to sing the odd hymn or two. A great way to start the day.
Our Sunday morning gatherings follow the monthly pattern below:
1st Sunday of the month: In God's Presence We set aside waiting time in the presence of the Holy Spirit; where all our plans are flexible so that we can hear God, become more open to him, becoming more able to change in his presence.
2nd Sunday of the month: Hearing God’s Word We honour God's word by hearing and studying scripture, through teaching, preaching and applying the Bible to our lives. So that we order our lives as God would have them, with his heart and mind in us.
3rd Sunday of the month: Learning Christ’s Ways We focus on the particular ways, qualities and goals of Jesus Christ. So we are shaped into his likeness as the early disciples were, learning to make disciples who make disciples.
4th Sunday of the month: Shared Life & Mission We meet as an extended family around food, at tables, informally, to grow in relationship, sharing fun, sharing stories of faith, welcoming new faces, praying with all across the age groups. So that we can learn how to share faith more naturally, in all kinds of contexts.
1st Sunday: Healing & Refreshing: Come and explore God's love in an informal way and spend quiet time with Him.
2nd Sunday: Relaxed communion: using Common Worship with hymns and a sung Gloria.
3rd Sunday: Evening Prayer: using Common Worship
4th Sunday: Extended teaching: an in-depth look at either a topic or contemporary problem from the Bible. The service ends in a discussion where everyone is encouraged to ask questions and take part in a dialogue.
