We have Morning Prayer at 8am, daily except Fridays: a psalm, Bible readings and prayer in a quiet reflective atmosphere. AS WE ARE IN VACANCY UNTIL JUNE 2019, WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY DOING MORNING PRAYER.
At 8am we hold a quiet, spoken Holy Communion Service, with a more modern liturgy except on the first Sunday of the month when the service follows the more traditional style of the old Book of Common Prayer. There is tea, coffee and biscuits for everyone afterwards in the small hall.
At 9.30am we have our Parish Communion, a sung communion with choir and organ, and heralded to the locality by our ring of six bells. Parts of the communion are sung and there are always hymns, led by choir and organ. The service is followed by tea, coffee and birthday cake in the small hall.
At 11.30am we have our All Age Worship, a more informal service, with more modern songs and hymns, lots of participation, and with children present all the time. The crèche area in church however is still available. Music is led by the St Giles’ Worship Band. Usually one service each month will be a simple communion, and the third Sunday may well include Christenings. Tea, coffee and birthday cake follows the service, in church.
At 5.30pm we have a sung Evensong service, with hymns and music led by choir and organ. On the first Sunday this includes communion. Occasionally this service takes on a “Songs of Praise” format.
