Shining bright at our Christingle service

It was a truly joyful occasion, filled with light, music and a wonderful sense of community as we gathered to celebrate the hope and love of the Christmas season.

A heartfelt thank you to Sue West for leading us in worship, guiding us through the meaning of Christingle with warmth and clarity. For those who may be new to the tradition, a Christingle is a symbolic orange used in Advent and Christmas services. Each part carries a special meaning: the orange represents the world, the red ribbon reminds us of God’s love, the sweets and fruits symbolise the blessings of creation, and the candle at the centre brings Christ’s light into the darkness. It’s a treasured custom for families and children, and it was wonderful to see it shared again this year.

We were also treated to a beautiful performance from St Paul’s Primary School choir; their singing filled the church with joy and was greatly appreciated by all. A huge thank you as well to SPOGs for their hard work preparing the Christingles; your dedication helps make this service so special for everyone who attends.

As we journey towards Christmas, we have many more services and events coming up. We’d love for you to join us as we continue to celebrate the season together. Everyone is welcome.
