Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity church is a historic monument at the heart of the village of Churchover, in the Warwickshire countryside, just north of Rugby. The building has important architectural and historical value that is significant beyond its role as a place of worship.

Whilst its origins are medieval, the present building largely reflects a comprehensive restoration in 1896-97. The south portal is a rare unaltered example of Early English architecture and at the east end is a stained-glass window by artist Arild Rosenkrantz (c.1918), which is of important artistic value and receives visitors from around the world.

The church also hosts a memorial to the Dixwell family. John Dixwell was one of the 59 signatories of King Charles' Death Warrant in 1649, and is an important historical figure. The royal connection continues with a chancel screen which was presented by Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother who often stayed locally.

Holy Trinity welcomes all members of the parish and visitors to our services and events. We are open for weddings, funerals, and baptisms. Those organising such events can also book the nearby Churchover Community Centre for hosting social events alongside the church service.

Holy Trinity is grouped with five neighbouring village parishes known as the Revel Group of CofE Churches. There is information here https://www.revelgroup.org/ which includes dates for upcoming services and details of our main fundraising event, the Daffodil Sunday Spring Fair.

The challenges at Holy Trinity are to keep the building in good repair and to maintain and extend its use for worship and wider community benefit – continuing a thousand years of work. This is a huge challenge for a small village and Holy Trinity welcomes with sincere gratitude any voluntary help – in body, in spirit or in donation!
