Congratulations on your engagement! We are delighted you are considering a church wedding.
Making a Booking
You can get married in your local parish church simply by virtue of the fact that you live in the parish, or your parents do, or you or they were baptised in the church. There are also other ways that you can establish a connection with the church that you want to get married in. Click here to find out more about the legal requirements:

A wedding date cannot be confirmed before you've spoken to our Rector to verify your qualifying connection and legal right to marry.

Banns of Marriage Application
If you live in the Arden Valley Benefice and are getting married in a church elsewhere, you will need to have your banns read in the benefice. Contact the Rector to apply for your banns to be called. They will usually be read on three consecutive Sundays two months before your wedding day. It is best to apply early so that there is enough time for your banns to be ready before the wedding. The fee for calling banns is currently £37 plus an extra £19 for the certificate.
Thanksgiving for Marriage.
Contact the Rector to discuss Prayer and Dedication after a Civil Marriage, Renewal of Vows in church or similar.
