But we need help to restore and preserve this stunning Grade 1 listed building packed full of history. World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women

The 2026 World Day of Prayer materials from Nigeria bring us a powerful invitation drawn from Matthew 11:28-30. At a time when people worldwide are carrying heavy burdens, our Nigerian sisters offer profound insights into finding rest in God.

A blend of contemporary and traditional style service where all are welcome. Service starts at 10:15, refreshments served from 9:45. On the months that have 5 Sundays, Breakfast Church is held on the 5th Sunday - see separate listing for more details.

A friendly, relaxed and welcoming Children’s 0-5yrs Stay & Play Group (Home schooled KS1 children welcome) run by Mums of SEND children. Sensory toys, God’s story time, song time, cake & a cuppa, makaton, and lots more…
The leaders are friendly and understanding, have a diverse range of SEND experience and can offer a listening ear along the parenting journey.

The Mothers Union is a Christian organisation within the Church of England which works to support and encourage marriage and stable family life. There are c4 million members in 83 countries.

The Mothers’ Union in Southam is a parish-based group who usually meet on the second Thursday of each month to pray, volunteer, fundraise and campaign on a variety of family-based issues. The group’s aim is to keep expanding membership and hold more evening meetings to involve those who are not able to attend in an afternoon to join in. More information of what is happening across the Coventry Diocese can be found on the Mothers’ Union Coventry Diocese website.

It is always particularly pleasing to welcome new members as it gives an indication that Mothers’ Union is still a lively growing organisation that has much to offer. You do not have to be a mother to join and gentlemen are welcomed. Equally, if you wish to just support a project we will be pleased to hear from you.

Sadly we can’t provide a full English at Breakfast Church, but a very tasty Continental breakfast is enjoyed with fresh coffee or tea or juice. Whether you want to bring a newspaper to read or chat with new and old friends, Breakfast Church at St James is a great start to the day. It usually happens on 5th Sundays, but sometimes we have Breakfast Church for Baptisms as we find them a really fun, family friendly time for both frequent and less frequent visitors :)
There’s no charge but donations are always welcome :)

A time to hear and reflect on Bible passages of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday as we move around the church, then spend some time reflecting on the price paid by Jesus for each of us.

A service for all to celebrate Harvest and receive donations of non-perishable items.

A time to remember and give thanks for those who have served and sacrificed their lives in the World Wars and other conflicts for our freedom today.

The parade will meet at 10am and parade to the church for a service of Remembrance at 10:45. Due to restrictions on capacity in the church, seating is prioritised for the parade. Any members of the public not in the parade will be asked to wait by the south doors of the church until the parade is seated. However, access into church will be given to anyone with walking difficulties. We thank you for your understanding.
