We join with the congregations of all our Benefice Churches on the special day.
The First Sunday of Advent begins the Church’s year and draws us into a season of hopeful expectation. As we light the first candle—the Hope Candle—we remember the prophets’ promises and look forward to Christ’s coming with renewed trust and anticipation.
Led by Rev’d Brenda Jackson, this Holy Communion service invites us to begin our Advent journey together through Scripture, prayer, and the sharing of bread and wine.
Our worship includes hymns, sung responses, and a sermon to help us open our hearts to the hope and promise of this season. The music is led by our four-part robed choir—soprano, alto, tenor, and bass—whose robes symbolise unity, devotion, and reverence in worship.
A gentle and uplifting way to begin Advent.

Join us at 9:30am for a welcoming Morning Worship service led by David Baldry, a member of our congregation. This gentle, traditional service includes Bible readings, prayers, hymns, and a short reflection—rooted in the comforting rhythm of Anglican worship.
As part of our worship, we will light the Second Advent Candle, the Peace Candle. It reminds us of John the Baptist’s call to prepare the way of the Lord and invites us to make room for Christ’s peace in our world and in our hearts.
Our robed choir leads the music, offering hymns and choral pieces that lift the spirit and create a sense of calm and reverence. Quiet, reflective, and full of hope—a lovely way to begin the Second Sunday of Advent.
