St Edmund King & Martyr, Fenny Bentley

The Revd Canon Dr Nicola McNally welcomes you to St Edmund King & Martyr in Fenny Bentley, Derbyshire.

St Edmund King & Martyr is the Church of England Parish Church for Fenny Bentley, within the Diocese of Derby and is one of the Peak Seven group of churches.

It is open for private prayer all day, every day, unless there is a funeral or wedding. All are welcome to this ancient space where people have prayed for centuries, take a slow walk round the church or simply sit for a while.

The churches of Peak Seven welcome all to worship, irrespective of age or faith commitments. There are normally at least two services every Sunday somewhere within our group of churches including a communion service at 11:15. Our Services and Events page will show all services and events within the group of churches.

The church dates back to the 14th century but was very heavily restored in the 19th centuryThe two most impressive features of the church are its 16th century screens and the alabaster Beresford tomb. The Beresford family have a service every year, and meanwhile we welcome many Beresfords from all over the world, week to week. Just have a look at the visitors' book!
