Everyone is welcome to a service where Holy Communion is shared, hymns, Bible readings, prayers and a sermon also form part of the service. We are an inclusive, family friendly, church where people of all backgrounds receive a really warm welcome. We are fairly traditional with a robed choir and modern catholic style worship. We have a children's corner with adult supervision - or most Sunday's we have a Children's Church with the children joining us for communion. The children are encouraged to serve and read wherever appropriate particularly when we have our all age service on the second Sunday of each month.

And this is a special year for our church organ as it is 150 years old so we will be joined by The Bishop of Repton who will give the organ a blessing.
There will be light refreshments after the service and a chance to look at some archive information regarding the organ and its life at St Johns

We are again having a Christmas Tree Festival here at St Johns. Come and visit us to view a number of trees from members of the congregation, local uniformed groups and organisations that are friends of the church. This year we are raising money for the church and for Headway (Derby)
We will have a visit from Santa on the Saturday afternoon - he will be with us between 2pm-4pm - for a small donation all children will get a gift.
The children will also be able to write to him with their Christmas wishes, post at St John's and if their address is included then the elfs will reply.
We also have a colouring competition for them and a quiz to look for things at the festival - with prizes
We will be serving teas/coffees and of course cake.
We will also have a raffle.
And on the Saturday there will be a concert by The Derby City Singers & Voices Ensemble at 7.30pm
