St John's is the village church of Burnhope-set high on a hill looking down over the North-West Durham countryside. We're here to worship God together, and to mark and support you through the most important times of our lives; baptisms (Christenings), weddings and funerals.
Our parish of Lanchester and Burnhope is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and hae our own Safeguarding Team. Our Diocese of Durham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our Team. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Parish Priest, Rev Lesley Sutherland on 01207 529166 [email protected] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Beth Miller 07908 634075 [email protected]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
