About Us

Welcome to All Saints' Church, Blackwell

Growing God’s Kingdom, Together.

Welcome to All Saints' Church. We are a lively, inclusive, and "middle-of-the-road" Anglican church serving the community of Blackwell in Darlington. Whether you are looking for a place of worship, a space to connect with neighbours, or simply a quiet moment of reflection, our doors are open to you.

Who We Are

We are a busy church with a big heart. Our community is diverse, ranging from young families to long-standing residents, all united by a desire to grow in faith and friendship. We believe that church isn't just for Sundays; it's about life together.

Our vision is simple: To Grow God's Kingdom. We strive to do this by growing the church, growing as disciples, and growing in service to our parish and beyond.

Worship With Us

We offer a variety of services to suit different needs and styles.

  • Sundays at 8:30 am: A quieter, reflective said service (Holy Communion).

  • Sundays at 10:30 am: Our main Parish Communion. This is a choral service with music, suitable for all ages.

  • Evening Services: We hold occasional evening services at 6:30 pm, please check our website for upcoming dates and themes.

We also offer a "hybrid church" option for those who cannot attend in person, ensuring everyone stays connected.

Life Beyond the Pews

All Saints' is a hub of activity throughout the week. We are proud to host a variety of Uniformed Organisations, fostering the next generation of leaders and team players.

Community is at the core of what we do. The All Saints’ Millennium Centre and our church hall are bustling with events that bring people together:

  • Parish Lunches: Good food and great company.

  • Coffee Mornings: Held on the first Saturday of each month. It’s the perfect excuse for a hot drink, a sweet treat, and a catch-up.

  • Weekly Playgroup: On Friday mornings at 10:00 am, welcoming local parents, toddlers and babies

  • Hall rental: our main Millennium Hall is perfect for those family gatherings or birthday parties, large enough to hold the most exciting inflatable bouncy castles! Book on our website here: https://allsaintsblackwell.org.uk/church-hall/

Our History

Our roots in Blackwell go back to 1937, starting in a temporary wooden structure. Today, we worship in a modern, light-filled building that was rebuilt and rededicated to serve the changing needs of our parish. With flexible seating and welcoming glass doors, our building reflects our open approach to ministry, modern, adaptable, and accessible to all.

Get Involved

There is always something going on at All Saints', and there is a place for everyone. Whether you want to join the choir, help with the coffee mornings, explore our history, or simply sit and listen, we would love to meet you.

Come and see us this Sunday!
