The 2025 Michael Ramsey Lecture - will be on Monday 10th November at 5pm and given by Allen Warren entitled “More than Nine Lessons and Carols: the quest for Eric Milner-White (1884-1963)”. A prominent churchman for over 50 years, Eric Milner-White is best known for inaugurating the first Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from King's College, Cambridge on Christmas Eve 1918. This, for many, became the beginning of Christmas across the English speaking world. Historian Allen Warren, author of More than Nine Lessons and Carols, explores the man behind the mask and asks whether Milner-White’s distinctive contribution to English life still has anything to say in the 21st century.
