On Wednesday 22 October at 7.30pm at St Peter’s Church, Reverend Sharon Byrne, our curate who is also the Bishops Adviser for Racial Justice, and Lindsay Davies will be talking about the links between Horningsea and the Abolition of the Slave Trade in the 19th Century - in particular what is known about George Gurney who was baptised in Horningsea and the story of Moses Roper, an escaped slave who came and lectured in Horningsea.
