Who lived in Horningsea in 1766? Learn more about the people who lived here, our connections to King George III, the houses and pubs that stood here, some of which still stand here today.
Did you know that Horningsea has links that went much further afield? This included the burgeoning British Empire during a time of exploration and discovery.
In 1766, churchwardens paid children to bring them hedgehogs, polecats, sparrows & rooks.
On 28th June, children who bring a painting or model of one of these animals will be awarded with an original old penny, halfpenny or farthing!
This event has been funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund and Friends of Horningsea Church, with thanks to Horningsea Village Hall Trust.

St Peter's, Horningsea

St Peter's is very much at the heart and soul of our village life, its activities and celebrations.  There are services on the first two Sundays of the month and either the third or fourth Sunday.   We are also part of the 'Three Parishes' group with St Mary's Fen Ditton and All Saints Teversham, led by Canon Nick Moir.  Once or twice a month we join with them for worship in one of our churches.

Our bellringers practise regularly - newcomers are welcome.
