Burns Night at Meldreth Village Hall

🎶 Bagpipes, tartan, and the poetry of Robert Burns will fill Meldreth Village Hall on Saturday 24th January 2026, as the community gathers for a traditional Burns Night Supper in aid of vital roof repairs at Holy Trinity Church.

The evening promises hearty fare and warm hospitality. Guests will be treated to a classic Scottish menu featuring Cock-a-Leekie Soup, Haggis with Neeps & Tatties, and the indulgent dessert Cranachan. Vegetarian options will be available, ensuring everyone can join in the celebration.

More than just a meal, Burns Night is a spirited tribute to Scotland’s national bard, with laughter, storytelling, and perhaps even a toast or two to the immortal memory of Burns himself. With tickets priced at £20, the event offers a chance to support a cherished local landmark while enjoying a night of culture and camaraderie.

To reserve your place, contact Revd Andrew Birks on 01763 230178. Early booking is advised—this is one supper not to be missed!

Pilgrimage to Malta - 5th to 12th June 2025

Occurring
for 7 days, 10 hours
Venue
St Paul's Bay
Address
St Paul's Bay, Malta

“Take courage... for God has granted safety to all who sail with you.” – Acts 27:24

Pilgrimage is an ancient practice—a journey of the body that reflects a deeper journey of the soul. As Anglicans
setting out on pilgrimage to Malta, we travel not as tourists, but as seekers, walking prayerfully in the footsteps
of those who have gone before us in faith.

This small island nation, nestled in the heart of the Mediterranean, holds within its shores the powerful memory of
St. Paul’s shipwreck, a turning point that led to the Gospel being proclaimed in Malta for the first time. His
experience—of hardship, hospitality, and divine providence—speaks deeply to all who seek God in times of
uncertainty and transition.

As we visit sites such as St. Paul’s Bay, the Grotto in Rabat, the historic cities of Valletta and Mdina, and the
tranquil island of Gozo, we are invited to reflect on the presence of God not only in sacred places, but also in the
storms, journeys, and encounters of our own lives. Malta offers a rich encounter with Christian tradition—one that
spans Roman Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant heritage—and gives us space to pray, to listen, and to be
renewed.
Together, as Anglicans, we will travel to Malta in the spirit of unity, openness, and shared devotion, mindful of our
place within the wider body of Christ. May this pilgrimage be for each of us a time of spiritual refreshment, deeper
communion with God, and a renewed sense of calling in the world.

We travel not alone, but as companions on the Way - pilgrims, following the risen Christ.
