St Mary's Buckden

Welcome to St Mary's Buckden.

We are a friendly village church with an active congregation. The church is open to visitors every day, to look around, for a quiet space to rest, or for private prayer, so do come in and look around.  We also run a variety of services and events throughout the year; something for everyone, we hope. All are welcome at any of our services and events.

Our main services each week are on Sunday at 11am and Wednesday at 10am; with additional services and times of prayer which vary from week to week.
For a full list of services and events in the coming weeks, just click "Services & Events"

You are welcome to join us for tea/coffee & chat at 11am every Wednesday, Coffee & Cakes on the first Saturday of the month, and on the afternoon of the second Wednesday each month we host a Community Cafe with befrienders/transport group Friends in Deed. We are voucher holders and a collection point for the Foodbank. We have strong links with the local school, Buckden Primary Academy, and with Hardwick Dene Care Home.

We run various group activities including Junior Church and youth@thetowers for children/youth; Angel Voices for singers; bell-ringers; Getting Active for those who like to walk, Cleaning Crew. Our Living Stones Room is available to hire for small groups events.

Safeguarding

Our parish of St Mary's Buckden is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Ely’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, Vasanthi Mowat (07535 922829 [email protected]), or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (01353 652747). If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
