St Margaret of Antioch

Welcome to St Margaret’s, Wereham

St Margaret’s is a warm, friendly and welcoming church where everyone is invited to feel at home, whether you’re exploring faith, visiting the village or returning to church life. We’re an open and relaxed community, and dogs are welcome too.

Who we are

St Margaret’s is a much-loved village church at the heart of Wereham and part of the Benefice of Wissey Valley / Grimshoe. We aim to be a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can belong, find peace and connect with others.

Our Services

We gather for Evensong on the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. This is a calm and reflective service with traditional hymns.

We also meet on the third Sunday at 11 a.m. for Holy Communion, a welcoming service that lasts around an hour and includes hymns.

After our Holy Communion service, and at many of our special services, we offer hospitality. It’s a lovely chance to stay for refreshments, enjoy conversation and spend time together as a community.

Why visit?

St Margaret’s is a place of peace, community and genuine welcome. Whether you come for worship, to enjoy the quiet of the church and churchyard or simply to meet friendly faces, we hope you will feel comfortable and at home.

Location

We are on Church Road in the centre of Wereham. You are always welcome to come in, look around or join us for a service.
