About Us
St Andrew’s is a warm and welcoming church at the heart of the village, proud to be part of the parish of Woolaston with Alvington and Aylburton and we are also part of the Benefice of Lydney. We are blessed with five bells, rung for every service, and also host a weekly Monday evening bell-ringing practice led by very experienced ringers who are always delighted to share their skills with anyone keen to learn.
Our services are held at 10:30am on the third Sunday of each month, with an average congregation of around 26 cheerful and friendly folk. After each service, everyone is invited to stay for tea, coffee, and a fine selection of biscuits — a lovely opportunity for fellowship and conversation.
The church is truly supported by the village community. The upkeep of the churchyard benefits greatly from the help of local villagers, and the parish council is always ready to lend a hand when needed.
We are a happy and caring congregation, grateful for our central place in village life, and we warmly welcome anyone who would like to join us.
