Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality. It's primarily for people who don't already belong to another form of church. It meets on a Saturday afternoon at 4pm.

Common Worship

A COMBINED service of our usual 8:30am and 10:30 services as we re-commit ourselves in love and service to God at the start of the New Year and re-commission our many volunteers.

Family service with children's activities

Every Sunday in term time except the first of the month which is our intergenerational (all age) service. Our young people join for the first part of our service, then move to the church centre for their own session (s). Numbers are small and the age range wide but all are welcome.

'Tea and Toast' or 'Coffee and Crumpets!' is a weekly opportunity for anyone in the community to come for a hot drink and chat with friends or make new friends. The church centre kitchen is open from 9:00am to 13:00 - drop in at anytime during the morning for as long or as short a time as you wish. Refreshments are free but donations towards costs are welcome. There is always a jigsaw puzzle on the go too if that appeals! We are open all year round!

Family Friendly Service

A unique opportunity to hear this performance by Nicolas Morrow Brown - distinguished guitarist and Licentiate of Trinity College, London (LTCL). Free, no booking required but donations are invited to support the Pawson family, our mission partners in Japan. Refreshments available from 14:30, concert from 3pm.

Introducing Nicolas:
Nicolas Morrow Brown began playing the classical guitar in his late teens, inspired by the artistry of Julian Bream. He has given and taken part in many recitals, including as a duo with Raymond Burley and with the harpsichordist Richard Lester. He has played in masterclasses with David Russell, Scott Tennant and Nigel North among others. He is an occasional student with Craig Ogden, and has a long association with Professor Carlos Bonell of the Royal College of Music. In 2013, at the age of 66, Nicolas was appointed a Licentiate of Trinity College London, with Distinction, for his recital of music by J S Bach, Mauro Guiliani, Agustin Barrios and Richard Rodney Bennett. In 2007 his self-produced CD Guitar Classics became available, featuring music by Bach, Scarlatti, Llobet and Turina. Since retirement from his legal and judicial career in 2022 he has been able to devote more time to playing, exploring new repertoire and performing on the guitar.

Monthly family friendly, interactive service. This is also the service at which we sometimes welcome children and adults in baptism.

We’d love you to join us on the first Sunday of each month from 2-4pm to have fun with board games. All ages are welcome but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Bring your favourite game or come and learn new ones. This event is free but donations are welcome.

An opportunity to spend time in quiet reflection exploring different ways of experiencing prayer such as Taize prayer, Franciscan prayer, Northumbrian community prayer, Compline and silence reflection. Led each month by different people.
