Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality. It's primarily for people who don't already belong to another form of church. It meets on a Saturday afternoon at 4pm.

Common Worship

Family Friendly Service

Every Sunday in term time except the first of the month which is our intergenerational (all age) service. Our young people join for the first part of our service, then move to the church centre for their own session (s). Numbers are small and the age range wide but all are welcome.

Join us in the church centre to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. Free but donations to cover costs are welcome. Drop in anytime between 16:30 and 18:00. All welcome. No booking is required but letting us know that you plan to come via the church office will help us make sure we have plenty for everyone.

'Tea and Toast' or 'Coffee and Crumpets!' is a weekly opportunity for anyone in the community to come for a hot drink and chat with friends or make new friends. The church centre kitchen is open from 9:00am to 13:00 - drop in at anytime during the morning for as long or as short a time as you wish. Refreshments are free but donations towards costs are welcome. There is always a jigsaw puzzle on the go too if that appeals! We are open all year round!

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the 40 days of Lent leading up to Easter. It is so called because we use ashes in liturgy that day.

Monthly family friendly, interactive service. This is also the service at which we sometimes welcome children and adults in baptism.

We’d love you to join us on the first Sunday of each month from 2-4pm to have fun with board games. All ages are welcome but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Bring your favourite game or come and learn new ones. This event is free but donations are welcome.

An opportunity to spend time in quiet reflection exploring different ways of experiencing prayer such as Taize prayer, Franciscan prayer, Northumbrian community prayer, Compline and silence reflection. Led each month by different people.

Family service with children's activities

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in Holy Week, 30th and 31st March, 1st April. A quiet reflective time of prayer before rest at the end of the day. The name 'Compline' comes from a Latin word meaning ‘completion’ (completorium).

Maundy Thursday is the day when Christians remember the Last Supper, when Jesus celebrated the Passover meal with his disciples before being betrayed and arrested.

Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality. We usually meeting on the second Saturday of the month but Messy Easter is on Good Friday not Easter Saturday.

Our 8:30 and 10:30 congregations will join together at 10 am as we celebrate with joy the victory of Jesus over sin and death; risen to live in us by his Holy Spirit- energising, encouraging and enriching us amidst the challenges of life.
