Join the congregation of St Mary the Virgin, Burrough for our annual Harvest service, at 4pm on 13th October. This yearas well as readings, hymns and prayers we will also be dedicating a plaque to honour the late Bill Fryer, Churchwarden , farmer and member of the community for many years. We will be hosting a display of flowers, produce and old farm implements to reflect the nature of our rural church, and the bounty of the earth. The service will be attended by The Bishop of Leicester.
There will be seasonal homemade refreshments after the service. Some produce will be available to buy, and non- perishable food will be donated to those in need.
Please bring a donation of in date canned or boxed food items if you are able.

St Mary the Virgin

Welcome to St Mary the Virgin, Burrough-on-the-Hill. This  is a  beautiful medieval church with glorious stained glass windows, a 13th century font, 15th century stone effigies, and memorials to famous residents of the village.

The Church is part of the Diocese of Leicester and the Burrough Hill Benefice of churches, within which is the Burrough Hill parish, comprising Burrough on the Hill, Somerby, Gt Dalby, Little Dalby, and Pickwell. A strong fellowship exists between all the churches in the benefice.

Burrough on the Hill holds services once a month, generally on the fourth Sunday, and we also host a great variety of concerts, events, and craft workshops throughout the year reflecting how our church is firmly rooted in the life of the community. 

You are very welcome to look around the church, which is normally open every day, or to attend our services and events.
