July Reflection from the Rectory - Who is Jesus? Knowing the story

What do we know about our faith. What is your favourite Bible Story?
Jesus taught his disciples through example and story. We have heard so many of them as we have celebrated our major festivals. Yet there is so much more to learn. We now enter the season in the church calendar known as Ordinary Time. You will have heard me say at some point there is nothing ordinary about church. This special time is one where we can take the opportunity to deepen and grow our faith. Jesus was often asked questions Lord what should I do, Lord how should I? He often answers with his own questions; what do you want me to do for you? What do you think? If he were to ask you those questions, what might your response be? What might you ask him?

Faith is a wonderful thing and the more we learn about it the more wonderful it becomes. What might you wish to learn more about faith? Knowing the story will be our focus in the coming months. We will be starting some Bible studies, low key ones where we learn together. Dates will be published soon. In the meantime, I pray that each of us will delve into our bibles and learn more of the story of Jesus. For many of us we probably know the stories, but not always what they might mean for us in our busy modern lives. With every blessing. Reverend Al.

Welcome to St Edith's Church. It is really good to welcome you to our A Church Near You website. We hope your visit will be a positive one.

We are glad that you have chosen to look at what is happening in our church and finding out about its history. If you have time please let us know what you think of the site. We hope too that you will want to visit the church and perhaps attend one of our services.

Safeguarding

"The parish of Anwick: St Edith is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Lincoln’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."

With every blessing. Reverend Al.
