Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Lent – the 40 days leading up to Easter was traditionally a time of fasting . Shrove Tuesday was the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast and pancakes were the perfect way of using up these ingredients.
To celebrate this, we will be serving our traditional sweet and savoury pancakes (a vegetarian option is available) between 11 am and 1pm on Tuesday 17th February in the Vicars Room. Join us
for a tasty treat or two for a reasonable cost! All are very welcome.

Julian Prayer is named after Julian of Norwich, a fourteenth century mystic.
It is the practice of contemplative prayer and meditation in the Christian tradition were a small group of people come together in prayerful silence to wait upon God, to listen to God and to meet God in silent awareness without hymns or liturgy.
It could best be described as ‘prayer of the heart’.
Join us on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm. In the winter months the meeting is held in the Vicar’s Rooms and in the summer in our beautiful ancient church.
