Hello folksHere in our two Parish Churches we are preparing for Advent, a season of preparation — four weeks of anticipation and reflection as we await the coming of Christ. In a world filled with hurry, anxiety, and exhaustion, Advent invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, and rediscover the peace and love that only God can give. Each week, from the First Sunday of Advent ( 30th Nov) we will light a candle, marking our journey toward Christmas and reminding us of God’s promises that never fade. The First Candle — HopeThe first candle shines in the darkness as a reminder of our hope in Christ. Even when the world feels uncertain, God’s light is steady. Advent begins with hope, the confident expectation that God’s promises are true and that His plan is good. The Second Candle — PeaceThe second candle calls us to rest in God’s peace. In the middle of our busy lives, we pause to remember that true peace doesn’t come from a quiet schedule but from trusting the One who calms every storm. The Third Candle — JoyThe third candle, often pink, represents joy. It reminds us that joy is not dependent on circumstances but flows from knowing Christ. We celebrate that He is near and that His presence fills our hearts with lasting gladness. The Fourth Candle — LoveThe final candle before Christmas represents love — the deep, selfless love that sent Jesus to dwell among us. As we light this candle, we are reminded that God’s love is the answer to the weariness and emptiness our world often gives. As we journey through Advent, may we let go of our hurry and make room in our hearts for the One who brings hope, peace, joy, and love — the greatest gift of all.You are most welcome to join us for any or all of our services. St Leonard's have worked very hard this last couple of years, improving how we live on this planet and our care for God's creation. We have had many sermons and talks about how we are stewards of God's creation and our responsibility for looking after it..So Going eco-friendly has become for our Church, a way of life that is helping preserve the environment by reducing, reusing, and recycling items. Such as clothes, food, product packaging etc.. It can also involve moderating our own behaviours to have a smaller impact on the environment. To become more environmentally-mindful in our lifestyle. We have created a beautiful green space with wildflowers, building a bug hotel, and a prayer/meditation area.
