Services at Holy Week and Easter

Following on from the excellent Cantata on Wednesday evening, with our augmented Choir we have two further twilight services in Holy Week, as darkness falls.

The first, last night (Maundy Thursday), was our commemoration of the Lord's Supper and stripping of the Church in preparation for Good Friday. Quiet, moving and truly heart-hitting.

Today (Good Friday) we can join in the walk of witness in Formby Village (11am from the War Memorial) ending with the Passion Play by the pool (11:20am). Later we will spend an hour at the Cross in St. Michael's reflecting on the meaning of this holiest and darkest day of the year.

The second twilight service, probably my favourite of the entire church year is in preparation for Easter Day. It is the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday evening at 6:30pm - we talk about God's saving acts through history as darkness falls and the light the Easter Candle as a sign of hope and promise.

And on Easter Sunday we all join in celebration at 9:30 am for the biggest celebration in the Church year.

You will be welcome at any or all of our services, but if you really can't make it, then pray for us, as we will pray for you.
