Columba's Crew is our Sunday School and is the place to bring your baby, toddler or primary aged children.
We engage with the Bible through song and story, through craft and connecting together.

It's often hard for little ones to sit through a Sunday Mass, so why not bring them along where they will learn the Christian faith and make new friends.

THE THINGS HE CARRIED…….. STORY
The Liturgy this day begins with the celebration of the Last Supper.
We remember the new commandment given by Jesus to " Love one another as I have loved you."
At the end of the Mass Psalm 22 will be sung while the altars are stripped bare.

Will you not stay and watch with me ?
Following the Mass the church will remain open until midnight for everyone to spend some time in thought and devotion to remember the time that Christ spent in the Garden of Gethsemene agonising of what was to happen.

The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man. The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day, beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage as the individual moves from station to station. At each station, the individual recalls and meditates on a specific event from Christ's last day. Specific prayers are recited, then the individual moves to the next station until all 14 are complete. We invite you to join with us as we meditate on the journey to the Cross.

The Stations of the Cross for children will take place on Good Friday morning at 11 am. This is an opportunity to invite people along who may not otherwise hear the Good News of Christ’s death and resurrection. This will be followed by the serving of drinks and Hot Cross Buns

The Liturgy follows the traditional pattern and includes a Liturgy of the Word, Prayers, the Passion Reading, the Adoration of the Cross and Communion from the reserved Sacrament.

We will be having our usual Good Friday Film with Fish and Chips at around 5.00 pm on 18 April. Please sign up and detail what food you would like. Sauces etc will be provided. Film TBA

We invite you to join us as we celebrate the missionary zeal of our patron Saint Columba.

We have a number of visiting clergy from the Diocese and beyond who will be bringing people with them from their parishes. We are joined by the choir of St Mary’s West Derby, as in times past.

The Mass will be followed by a “Saint Columba-style Reception” in the Community Centre.

We are very pleased to welcome back to Saint Columba’s Stephen, Bishop of Beverley, to conduct our Parish Mass which includes a service of Confirmation.

Confirmation is a special church service in which a person confirms the promises that were made when they were baptized. If you were baptized at a christening when you were a child, your parents and godparents made these promises on your behalf. As a young person or adult, you may be ready to affirm these promises for yourself and commit your life to following Jesus Christ. At a confirmation service, you make these promises for yourself. Your friends and family as well as the local Christian community will be there to promise to support and pray for you.

The bishop will lay his hands on your head and ask God’s Holy Spirit to give you the strength and commitment to live God’s way for the rest of your life.

A mass to celebrate creation.
All food donations received will be given to the North Liverpool Foodbank.

This service is a time when we can remember those of our family and friends who have died. We will however remember in our prayers particularly those from our parish who have died in the last 24 months and those names which have been added to the prayer list at the back of church.

At this Solemn Requiem we will be praying for our family friends and former parishioners who have died. There is a list at the back of church to which names can be added for inclusion in our prayers.

Our Parish Mass will include an Act of Remembrance including 2 minutes’ silence.
