The Parish Mass
The Mass is the heart of our worship — the place where heaven and earth meet. Here we come together to receive God’s grace, to be nourished by his Word, and to share in communion with Christ and with one another.
In the Eucharist, Jesus himself is truly present and active. Through the mystery of the Mass, we are drawn to the foot of the Cross, where his self-giving love is made present for us anew. Every Mass is a celebration of that love — a living act of thanksgiving and renewal.
We do not come to Mass as spectators, but as participants. Each of us has a part to play, joining our prayers, songs, and hearts in offering ourselves to God. Some serve as Eucharistic Ministers, helping to distribute Holy Communion so that all may share in Christ’s gift. Others serve as Lectors, proclaiming the Scriptures and bringing God’s Word to life. Cantors and choir members lead us in song, lifting our worship in praise and thanksgiving.
The celebrant stands at the altar in the person of Christ, leading us in prayer, proclaiming God’s Word, and consecrating the bread and wine so that they become for us the Body and Blood of the Lord.
At the heart of it all is Christ himself, gathering us around his table and drawing us ever deeper into his life and love.
