Palm Sunday Procession and Solemn Mass

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Pancras Old Church
Address
Pancras Road, London., NW1 1UL, United Kingdom

We begin outside for the blessing of the palms, before processing to the Church, in remembrance of Christ's entry into Jerusalem. In the Mass we hear the Passion Gospel proclaimed, with the different parts voiced by members of the congregation and the part of the crowd read by all of us: a dramatic way to enter into the story at the beginning of Holy Week!

A Saturday morning said Mass in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary (once a month especially under her title of Our Lady of Walsingham). The Mass is usually celebrated at the Walsingham Chapel altar under the tower. Coffee follows.

Solemn Mass

Occurring
Every Sunday at for 1 hour
Venue
St Pancras Old Church
Address
Pancras Road, London., NW1 1UL, United Kingdom

The centre of our life as a Parish Church: the full Sunday celebration of the Lord's Day is enriched with lots of heartfelt congregational singing, led by organ and cantor. There is a sermon preached by the priest, prayers of intercession (usually led by a member of the congregation). Formal but friendly, Mass is always followed by coffee and a time to chat and make friends. Occasional study sessions follow the service, and courses for newcomers and those preparing for baptism or confirmation. The best way to find out what it's like is to come along! Don't worry if you don't know what you're doing... And do introduce yourself to the Priest if you are new. Got young children? Our children's Sunday School has just relaunched, and meets in the Parish Room during the Mass after the Gospel, for teaching and activities, before coming in at the Offertory.

Mass of the Lord's Supper

Occurring
for 3 hours
Venue
St Pancras Old Church
Address
Pancras Road, London., NW1 1UL, United Kingdom

The Mass of Maundy Thursday captures the bitter-sweet mood of that night when Christ shared his Last Supper with his disciples. Feet are washed in imitation of Jesus' act of service. Mass ends abruptly with the stripping of the church, the Sacrament is taken to the Chapel which has been transformed into the Garden of Gethsemane, and a Watch is kept into the night. This is one of the most dramatic liturgies of the year.

The Easter Vigil
