We would love to welcome you to Holy Rood Church on Moorside Road in Swinton where our Sunday Morning Service starts at 10am; it's a service of Sung Eucharist i.e. Holy Communion to a sung setting with hymns, readings and prayers. Afterwards you are invited to join us in the Memorial Hall next to the church for coffee and conversation.
Regrettably the Memorial Hall is not available for hire for any private parties.
Please note that there is no Coffee Morning on Wednesday, 5th November (work being done on the kitchen in the hall).
This Sunday, 9th November, is Remembrance Sunday: please join us at 9:45am Family Parade Service for Remembrance Sunday which will culminate in gathering around the War Memorial at 11:00 am for the national two minute silence.
Midweek Time To Pause: starting on Wednesday 12th November at 9:40am in church, just before the coffee morning, there will be the opportunity to take a pause in the middle of your week to rest, pray, and be still in God’s presence. This simple time of prayer, reflection, and silence offers space to listen to God and find peace amid busy lives; all are welcome.
Sacred Sanctuary returns on Friday, 14th November: we meet by candlelight in the Lady Chapel at 6:45pm for a quiet time of prayer starting at 7pm.

COME AND SING IN OUR CHURCH CHOIR ~ We have vacancies in our church choir for sopranos, altos, tenors and basses! You may already sing in a choir, but if you like singing hymns and other sacred music you might like to join our church choir as well. Our Sunday services start at 10 am. We sing lots of favourite traditional hymns and some of the well established modern worship songs too. We have a sung setting for the Gloria, Sanctus, etc. We use three settings, and if there are sufficient in the choir, we sometimes sing a short anthem too. An ability to read music is not essential, though, if you read a little, it helps with learning new hymns and pieces. We have choir practice on Sunday mornings, before the 10 am Eucharist. We meet in church at 9.30 am and robe in cassock and surplice. Be part of something special to enhance our worship. You would be very welcome.I look forward to hearing from you.Gary Owen, ARCO, LLCM, LTCL Organist & Choirmaster
