About Us
We are first and foremost a community of prayer, hope and loving service, fully engaged with the Manchester Diocesan vision of being a transforming Christian presence in the heart of the community of Higher Blackley.
We have two regular services each week:
Wednesdays 10.45am Holy Communion
Sundays 9.30am Holy Communion or Morning Worship
We also offer other services at different times, such as Carol Services, Services of Healing and Wholeness, and Praise Services. You are welcome to join us for all of these. Just keep an eye on our calendar page and our "What's On" page for more details.
St Andrew's church can be accessed via Churchdale Walk from Crab Lane. If approaching on foot, the church can be seen from Crab Lane, just past the Flying Horse pub on the right if you walk up from Longhurst Road off Tweedlehill Road. If you are walking from Chapel Lane, you can see the church on the left, approximately 50 metres along from the rear entrance to Crab Lane school. There is room for some parking in front of the church grounds for those with mobility problems, but it is advisable to park on Crab Lane or any of the surrounding streets.
St Andrew's church has been at the heart of Crab Lane Village for over 150 years.
We believe in being an inclusive Church – church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.
