As part of this the Church of England’s #StainedGlassSummer, we at St John the Evangelist Church, Facit (in the Diocese of Manchester) would like to show you our very special stained glass window.

Our Victorian church is special, having a hammer beam roof and some splendid stained glass.

The one below is dedicated to John Whitworth who died in 1887 aged 27. It shows Christ addressing his followers. If you look closely, the face to the left of Jesus is particularly life like and is said to be the face of the deceased.
