As part of this the Church of England’s #StainedGlassSummer, we at St John the Evangelist Church, Facit (in the Diocese of Manchester) would like to show you our very special stained glass window. Our Victorian church is special, having a hammer beam roof and some splendid stained glass. The one below is dedicated to John Whitworth who died in 1887 aged 27. It shows Christ addressing his followers. If you look closely, the face to the left of Jesus is particularly life like and is said to be the face of the deceased.Everyone is more than welcome to come and have a look. We are open for services every Sunday at 9.15am and Wednesday at 10am. Please contact us via this website for further details and updates.
