Christingles are oranges wrapped in red tape, decorated with dried fruit or sweets, with a candle on the top.
The orange represents the world
The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ
The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God’s creations
The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.

At our Christingle and Toy Service we will be collecting any items for local children who may receive very little this Christmas.
With this in mind we would be grateful for any donations of toys for younger children or gifts for older children and teenagers. If you are able to donate then we ask that the items are not wrapped and are unused and if possible do not require batteries

This is a service for the benefice of St John's and St Leonard's
Mince pies and mulled wine will be served from 5:30pm
