We offer a warm welcome to all and encourage new people to join our community. We meet at 9.30am on Sundays for Holy Communion, followed by refreshments. We have a thriving Sunday Club for children which meets during the service on Sundays.

St Mark’s is the local parish church for Shiremoor, West Allotment, Murton, Moorside, Northumberland Park, Earsdon View and Cobalt Park. We are part of the Diocese of Newcastle, within the Church of England.

During part of the service children are invited into the hall for Winged Lions, which is our Sunday Club. The children hear stories, make crafts and play games.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Shiremoor: St Mark is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
